This will be a good game to watch. The defending 6A state champion vs the #1 ranked 6A team in Texas lead by a potential (crosses fingers) future Roadrunner Julon Williams.

HS Football is another thing Houston will have to do without for at least another week, so one might expect more scouts than normal in San Antonio and elsewhere.

I saw that the Katy HS football team was volunteering to cleanup houses damaged by flooding. From what I understand, people would send in a request to have items removed from their house and a group of players were dispatched to the house. Very classy move by those guys.

Anyone watching this game? Julon Williams is just dicing up the field against the Lake Travis defense.

    Judson 65 Lake Travis 45

This was the most points scored on Lake Travis ever. The score could have been a lot more lopsided but Judson took their foot off the pedal early in the 4th.

Lake Travis has a lot of talent and their QB can really air out the ball.

Coach Wilson needs to tap into that Lake Travis program.

Great game, Julon really impressed his ability to throw the ball is night and day from last year. Still don't know if he'll be given an opportunity to play QB in college but he's improving. Judson going to but tough to beat, the speed on that team is crazy.

My intentions were to surf between one or two college games and take an occasional long look at how Judson was doing against Lake Travis. I ended up spending most of the evening glued to the Judson game. That freaking team is scary! 65 points against a top 10 team. And it could have been more. Julon is definitely a future star. As a D1 quarterback? Probably not. Not that he wouldn't do well. His speed, elusiveness and athleticism will put fear into any defensive scheme. It's just that there are so many strong-armed teens vying for that position at the D1 level.

It's going to be an interesting year on the local scene. Can't wait to see how the Judson-Steele game turns out.

Judson looked good. LT will bounce back though. They lost their opener last year to Judson and went on to win State.
