I convert our formal dining room into UTSA tailgate central from August through the season. Informal dining becomes the staging area pre and post games.
I'm already ordering replacement pieces and getting a few new things for the season. Making hotel reservations for the road trips.
    Just easing into it.

I have an area in my garage closest to the door that I keep most of my stuff during tailgate season. Super quick and easy to load and unload. (After that it goes in the shed.)

I do the same thing. The night before a game, I move everything from the side of the dining room to the front living room. And that is my pretailgate staging area. This is how/when I filter out the equipment I won't need for that week.

And speaking of that, I maintain two large bins for small cooking equipment and grilling supplies. One goes to the tailgate, the other stays home. I just shuffle items between them based on what the grilling/cooking plan is for that week. Some items always go regardless, just in case they are needed.

You don't need to be there when gates open, but if you do there will already be people in line. If you decide to wait until later like 10 or 11 AM, there are plenty of open spaces still there. The spaces closest to the RV lot go first. But you can find plenty of good spots all over. A lot of people have their preferred areas, but they usually get there early enough to grab them.

there will be a line of cars at 8 am......the earlier you get there the better spot you will have....depends on how big your tailgate is......there will still be plenty of open spots even later by 12 noon)...just chose wisely (close to the port o potty if you need to piss a lot) close to the sidewalks if you want more space....or close to the spirit walk (when the players arrive by bus)...
