Default College Baseball - Midweek Games

Over the past 23 days, (Mar 18-Apr 9) the Roadrunners have played 16 games. Four of the games were non-conference and included a big win against Baylor, and an equally big loss against Prairie View A&M.

To the point: why would college level kids have to play non-conference games on Tuesday and Wednesday following a weekend series on the road, with three more conference games coming up 2 days later? All this in the middle of one of the more critical academic months of the year.

Counting the previous weekend series against LA Tech, that's 8 games in 10 days. Are the kids really motivated to play against inferior opponents, midweek? Probably not.

On the positive side: we won both conference series during the last 10 day span, 2 games to 1 over both LA Tech and Western Kentucky.

The team has played well in most of their games this season. I know final scores don't matter, but they're 1-9 in one run games. 0-5 in one-run conference games. It won't take much to make it an over .500 season. I plan to see at least one of the games this weekend against FAU, (24-10-1) (11-4 in conference.) A sweep would be nice!
