Fourth Round scenarios came out today. If we win Rd 3, SAFC will host FCD.

Dynamo will visit Rd 3 winner between Charlotte Independence (USL) / North Carolina FC (NASL).

And if Republic win (Rd 3 they host newbies Reno 1868 of USL), they will host RSL.

Though Orlando City will host their Rd 4 match-up June 14th.

    SAFC Preview (Game 10)
    * all rankings are from current West standings

    San Antonio FC
    1st | 7-0-2 / 19:4 (+15) / 23 pts
    vs Phoenix Rising FC
    11th | 3-3-0 / 8:12 (-4) / 9 pts

Their 3 wins have come in the last 4 games (excluding their US Open Cup match).

Looking at their last 5 (starting with the oldest):
    0:2 AL to 2nd-ranked SLC
    2:1 HW vs 12th LA
    4:3 HW vs 6th SPR
0:4 HL vs 13th RNO (Reno)
    2:1 HW vs 14th OKC

They have only had one road game and it came back April 1st against the 2nd-place team. Now, they are on the road facing the #1 team.

Also, a couple of points about their roster:
    > their star midfielder Luke Rooney is out for season with injury
    > Didier Drogba is a part of roster but whether he will play is the question
    > Jason Johnson, who scored SAFC's inaugural goal, plays for Phoenix
    > also they have Shaun Wright-Phillips. Obvious relation to Bradley Wright-Phillips from New York Red Bulls. Coincidentally he scored the Red Bulls only goal last night.

Reno 1868 FC last two USL games have been their only two wins in seven games.
4:0 AW vs Phoenix Rising FC
6:0 HW vs S2 (Seattle Sounders FC 2)
They seem to be catching their stride. We meet them again in Reno on August 12.

Reno just got another 4:0 HW vs Tulsa Roughnecks FC
They are doing what we have done. In our 3 USL games in May our opponent has not scored, although we are not scoring 14 goals - just 2. With that, Reno now has the next best goal differential in the West (+6), behind SA (+16) and SLC (+15).

    Game 11 / 3253' ⚽ O'Ojong (1)
    YELLOWS 》SA 3-1 SPR

    1st | 9-0-2 / 21:4 (+17) / 29 pts

    vs. SPR (goals): 1-2-1 (4:5)
    '17: 1:0 AW, [Jun 3], [Sep 17]

    Last 5: AW,
May 3:0 HW HD HW AW

    > Equal to the longest single-season road winning streak in USL history at 5.
    > This win snaps a 9-gm HW streak for SPR going back to September.
    > SAFC kept its eighth clean sheet in 11 matches, which leads all of USL…with the shutout, San Antonio has now kept five straight in USL play and haven’t let an opponent score in 465 minutes…goalkeeper Diego Restrepo leads the league with five shutouts.
    > All 9 wins have come when we score first. One draw was when we conceded first, the other draw was scoreless.
    > SAFC defender Greg Cochrane was named SWBC Man of the Match after helping keep Swope Park Rangers scoreless on the night…Cochrane recorded six clearances, five tackles and two interceptions in another 90 minutes.
    > Defense was a real key tonight especially after the goal. Fantastic defense held them off even in second-half stoppage time where SPR had three opportunities but they got nothing. Great job team.

Ran across this graphic on Twitter. Cool scatterplot for those who take possession stats from a game or two in soccer and say that possession means nothing. Taken from the 2016-2017 season, there's a clear correlation here between goal differential and time of possession among teams from seven leagues.
